Ham & Cheese Stromboli
Recipe ingredients:
2 one pound loaves frozen white bread dough
( thawed )
1 pound sliced deli ham
1/2 pound mozzarella cheese ( sliced )
1/2 pound mild cheddar cheese ( sliced )
1 medium onion ( chopped )
1 medium green pepper ( chopped )
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. poppy seeds
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Dash pepper
1 beaten egg
Preparing your recipe:
In a large skillet with butter, saute green pepper and onion until crisp tender.Roll out each bread loaf into a 16 inch x 10 inch rectangle.Place ham slices and cheeses over half of each loaf of dough.Top with sauted peppers and onions, sprinkle with Italian seasoning,pepper and garlic powder.
Fold dough over ham and cheese filling and seal edges.Brush with egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds.On 2 greased baking sheets, bake at 400° for 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Recipe makes 2 Stromboli, 16 servings
