cookbooks Quick easy homemade chili

Recipe ingredients:

2 cups onions, chopped
2 chopped garlic cloves
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 pounds ground beef
4 cups canned whole tomatoes ( chopped )
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
6 cups cooked pinto beans
1 tablespoon salt

Prepare your recipe:

In skillet saute onions and garlic cloves. Add ground beef and chili powder. Stir until meat is well browned. Add salt, tomatoes and sugar to a 1 1/2 gallon pot .Add sauted ground beef, simmer covered, for 20 minutes, stirring often. Add pinto beans and simmer chili for 1 hour more, covered over low heat and stirring several times.
Recipe yields 16 servings.

Slow-cooker Chili

Recipe ingredients:

1/2 cup onion ( chopped )
2 minced garlic cloves
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 pounds ground beef
2 14-1/2oz. cans stewed tomatoes ( chopped )
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
4 16oz. cans kidney red beans
( rinsed and drained )
1 can 15oz. tomato sauce
4 oz. chopped green chilies
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper

Cooking your chili:

In large skillet saute ground beef onions and garlic cloves until beef is no longer pink.Drain and transfer to a 5 quart slow-cooker.Stir in all remaining ingredients, cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
Recipe yields 14 servings.

Vegetarian Chili
Recipe ingredients:

1/2 cup onion ( chopped )
1 large green pepper ( chopped )
3 thinly sliced carrots
4 minced garlic cloves
2 tbsp. olive oil
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 14-1/2oz. cans stewed tomatoes ( chopped )
1 16oz. can hominy ( rinsed and drained )
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 16oz. can kidney red beans
( rinsed and drained )
1 15oz. can garbanzo beans
( rinsed and drained )
1 can 15oz. tomato sauce
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
2 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper

Prepare your recipe:

In large Dutch oven saute, onion, peppers, carrots and garlic in olive oil, until tender.Stir in all remaining ingredients, bring to a boil.Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
Recipe makes 12 servings.
