Easy Homemade Brownie Mix
This traditional brownie mix will replace store bought
mixes for a truly homemade tasty dessert.
4 cups all-purpose flour
8 cups sugar
2 1/3 cups baking cocoa
4 tsp.baking powder
4 tsp. salt
2 cups shortening
Prepare
In a large mixing bowl , combine sugar,flour,cocoa,salt and baking powder.Cut in your shortening until mixture is coarse crumbs.Store your homemade brownie mix in an airtight container in a cool dry place.Stores well for 3 months.

Healthy choice Yogurt Brownies
1 cup nonfat or low fat plain yogurt
3 eggs
1 1/4 sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
3 sqs. unsweetened baking chocolate
( melted )
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Frosting:
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup plain low fat yogurt
Prepare
Preheat oven to °350 F.Grease and flour 8 inch sq. baking pan and set aside.In large mixing bowl combine 1 cup yogurt ,sugar,eggs,butter,vanilla and melted chocolate.Mix at medium speed until well blended.Add baking powder,baking soda,flour and salt.Beat again until well blended.Spread mixture into greased pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.Cool on wire rack.Melt chocolate chips in sauce pan over low heat.Remove from heat and add 1/4 cup yogurt,stir until smooth.Spread your frosting evenly over cooled brownies.
